Not resolved

A good friend of mine trusted World Gym London with her financial information as many do. After she cancelled her membership (which was month to month) and was assured the charges would stop being withdrawn, she was still being charged ~ wrongfully (for way too long!) They caused a large amount of NSF charges on top of the fees they stole.

They got around the stop payment by slightly changing the amount each time! They said the charge amount changes due to 'late payment'! THE ONLY WAY SHE COULD GET THESE CHARGES TO STOP WAS TO CLOSE HER BANK ACCOUNT!!! After the fact she learned it *may* be possible to not put an amount on the stop payment, just the business name - just in case anyone else finds themselves in this terrible predicament.

BEWARE to anyone considering allowing this establishment access to direct withdrawal from any of their financial sources. If they'll do it to one, they'll do it to more! P.S. Her HONEST but negative (obviously) review was deleted from Facebook wrongfully (even thogh she stated she would remove it after the gym resolved the issue).

This 'gym' will do everything they can to say it is resolved and place the blame on her but it is all lies... do NOT fall for it.

They have done this to someone who goes out of her way to spread good news and promote local businesses (it's her job even!) and she would NEVER give a negative review unless it was absolutely true and necessary. Spread the word to save someone else great hassle and stress.

Reviewer is in unhappy mood. Please immediately contact the author of this review to discuss problems with payment of world gym membership. World Gym needs to read this review and look into the issue (if any) according to poster's claims.

I had the same thing happen and they are trying to send me to collections for the charges

They don't care if they ruin people's credit. I would tell you to go to their Facebook page to leave a review BUT they had to remove their review section because people were stating the truth and it was hurting their bottom line.

Sorry you are having to deal with this.

The best suggestion I can make is to retain legal counsel and fight - oh, and tell everyone you know to save them the troubles! Best wishes to you.


Thank you for sharing your concern regarding your friend. I would just like to add that there is always 2 sides to every story and we are doing everything possible to hold the billing company accountable for any unauthorized drafts.

I have taken this issue on and fully intend to resolve it to their satisfaction.

We have also waived the last payment due for the cancelation and we are waiting on further information from the member regarding the NSF charges in order to hold the billing company accountable.

This is a very important issue and we appreciate your concern.

Why do you separate yourself from the billing company as though you are 2 different businesses? When people go to your gym are they told 'Oh by the way, we deal with a billing company that we have great difficulty holding accountable'?

It is incorrect that you do not have the information you need from your past customer (and by incorrect I mean a LIE). As far as being so kind and 'waiving' a last payment.

When she signed on she purposely said she wanted to be month to month to avoid any potential of this happening (as many people know, this is not uncommon with gym's but each gym chooses if they want to be part of this scheme or not). Lastly, if you cared about people's health ('Best of health' as your common sign off) you wouldn't cause them months of stress to resolve something that should NOT be happening in the first place!
